This post should be read with my post on my development project through Global Peace Exchange and Clinic Nepal in Chitwan, Nepal this summer.
This is the alphabet mural I did at the Wolfgang Linke Kindergarten in Meghauli, Chitwan, Nepal. The paint here is just pigment mixed with glue (which they call “chemical”). In the first photo, one of the kindergarten teachers, Bidhya, is helping me put down the white base. That alone took two days because the nature of this glue paint is to make you want to scream and break things. Thank goodness I brought my own paint with me! So I was able to use that for most of the rest. In the last photo, Julia and Ruben, two visitors from Germany, are helping me paint the black border which actually remains unfinished so I’m going to fix that when I head back to Meghauli in a few days. On either side in the last couple photos are the body parts diagram and today/yesterday/tomorrow poster I made.
Note: All of these photos are courtesy of Kristen Wharton. Look her up!
